Budget Kayak and Canoe Rentals in the Red River Gorge!

Self-Guided Canoe and Kayak Tours

The Adventure Tour is 8 miles long and meanders through the heart of the Red River Gorge.  Towering cliffs, outrageous rock formations, deep forests and abundant wildlife are all in this canoe or kayak journey.  On average it takes 3-4 hours to do, but like all our trips, you have the boat for the day.  We just need you to return before dark.

The  Midway Tour puts in at Pumkin Bottom Campground and cuts the Adventure Tour in half, making this kayak or canoe trip more about relaxed paddling.

The Swimming Hole Tour is our shortest route, making this kayak or canoe adventure  about families with smaller kids interested in swimming, and picnicking.  The trip is only two miles, but you keep your kayak or canoe for the day.  So relax, have lunch, go swimming,  and take the kids to the swinging foot bridge.

All Day Kayak & Canoe Rental Rates

Canoe rental- $50.  Canoes accommodate 2 adults w/1-2 smaller kids depending on size and weight.

Kayak rental- $35.  Kayaks accommodate one person.  Kayaks can hold a small "six pack" type cooler.

*Notes:  PFDs, parking, and shuttle to the drop-off are free with each kayak or canoe rental.   Keep the boat all day!  Go swimming, have fun, but return before dark!

Overnight Canoe Camping- $65.  Want to really get away from it all?  Don't know where to camp?  Use canoes to get to deep forest camping.  Park your car in our lot and keep a canoe overnight.   We take you to a drop off, and you return by river to us (and your car) the next day.

*Note: We need higher water to do overnight trips.  Please keep the weight/gear to a minimum.  Call us to coordinate these trips (606-663-1012).

Let us shuttle your canoe or kayak!

We take you and your canoe or kayak to a drop-off for $25 for the 1st boat.  All other boats in your group are just $10 each until the trailer and van are filled.  If someone in your group rents one of our canoes or kayaks, all your boats are just $10 each.

The Red River is normally appropriate for novice paddlers in a kayak or canoe. The river varies from deep pools to fast shallows.   Beach your kayak or canoe on the many bars and islands to rest, swim or pick-nick.

Consider conditions in planning your canoe or kayak trip.  In cold weather wear warm, layered clothing.   Have a change of clothes in a waterproof bag.  Gloves protect hands from cold water.   In warmer weather consider sunscreen, hats, and sturdy shoes for walking on rocky bottoms.
